When in Doubt...Tax, Regulate, Subsidize

I believe it was Reagan who said that the Democrat philosophy is, "If it moves, tax it. If it continues to move, regulate it. If it stops moving, subsidize it." All three of those have been on display the last week of Congress by the Dems before they leave for the month long August vacation.

Raising taxes: Need money to cover the new costs of government handouts on healthcare, raise cigarette taxes. Need money to cover expanded farm subsidies in the Farm Bill, raise taxes on foreign companies with US subsidiaries. Need money for unmeetable and economically harmful energy policies in the Energy Bill, raise taxes on energy companies and evil oil companies by repealing tax breaks.

Regulations: Energy Bill cited above also adds new fees on top of the taxes.

Subsidizes: Farm Bill cited above expands the already harmful subsidizes that have been in place for decades that should have been repealed long ago (this one is not just a Dem issue...Repubs have questions to answer as well.)

They can't leave town soon enough!

On a side note regarding subsidizing or even using corn as a fuel source to help stop "manmade global warming". I'm having a huge problem with the ethics behind burning one grain of corn for fuel while we still have millions of people around the world starving. Will the libs apologize to all the families who lost members from starvation when the myth of manmade global warming is shown for what it is and BILLIONS of dollars have been wasted that could have saved lives instead.
