Rosie O'Donnell is once again spewing her looney left hatred. On "The View" she made the completely outrageous statement that "Radical Christianity" is just as threatening as Radical Islam. The silence on this ludicrous attack on Christians from the left is deafening. And don't even hold your breath waiting for an apology from Rosie or ABC.
Christianity is the only religion in America that you can discriminate against and spew hate with no retribution in the MSM. What is so sad is that is b/c we were founded as a Christian nation that other religions even have the freedom to exist much less share their faiths peacefully without fear of death.

Watch out for Methodist arson squads, Baptist rape-gangs and hate-crazed Anglican clergymen exploding planes over the Atlantic.
More TNT, vicar?
I was actually watching the show when she made the comment and couldn't believe my ears. But you know? I expect that from her! she's a lost woman who is destined for hell at the moment. I stopped and prayed for her after I heard her say that. I give her 6mths or less and she will have a meltdown about something on that show and it will be the end of The View.
RoP...don't forget Catholic homicide bombers in the day care centers.
Keri...hope that taught you to not watch trash TV any longer ;)
I don't know what's worse? Her statement, or the people in the audience who applauded it?
Good question Ron! Can you imagine if someone would have said that on that talkshow format afternoon segment on Fox (sorry having a complete brain freeze right now on the name of it). The audience would have booed them off the stage in a heartbeat.
I'm not agreeing with what she said, but she's hardly the first to say it. Look closely in the christian section of your local bookstore and their are a growing number of books saying the same thing written by ministers, preachers, etc.
What exactly are they saying?
I would like to know also.
Ditto Ron's comments!! I was really ticked off when I heard she said this. It is such an unfounded, ridiculous claim and really makes me mad.
I have never watched The View because except for Elizabeth Hasselback the rest of their views I could do without. I hate feminist propaganda that is supposed to speak for me.
I am actually taken aback by everyones outrage. It was said by Rosie O'Donald on a show that has never been more then a Bush bashing sex talk fest. I am not outraged that she said it, I'm more concerned that so many Christian's are watching that garbage.
OFF has more effect then outrage.
FI...other than Keri, I highly doubt anyone else was watching but heard about it on sites like Drudge Report and other conservative sites.
Man don't I feel like a heathen.
Keri...definitely in no way meant to imply anything of the sort =)
Someone has to keep an eye on what the other side is doing so we can effectively combat their idiocy.
That's the way I see it sometimes Shawn. I watch it for the sure entertainment of it, to hear just how stupid their views are. I feel for Elizabeth and don't know how she goes in to work everyday with them. I pray for them everytime I watch the show. Maybe that is why I watch it..to pray for them. Someone needs to
Well, I'm not an expert since I didn't actually read them all the way through . But mainly, that the religious right was exactly the kind of people that Jesus preached against when he spoke of religious hypocrisy (sp?>. Also, how many groups seem to ignore the new testament and rely heavily on the old testament even when the new testament updates (Paul's take on the law in Romans Chapters 10-15 is what was often quoted through my skimming). Mainly, and this is the point I have to agree with -- there are different brands of christianity. And what many of them are scared of is having a brand of christianity that goes against their own. (Think of a methodist or fundamentalist having to become a catholic). As for as fanatical christians none of these books ever suggest that Christians would become terrorists, but points out how killing an abortion doctor is just poor logic.
Here are a couple of links
God's Politics-- kind of a middle of the road book.
Why the Christian Right Is Wrong: A Minister's Manifesto for Taking Back Your Faith, Your Flag, Your Future-- a repetitive book with too many typographical errors too be taken too seriously, it does make the point that the Christianity of the extreme right is not what many of us hear on Sundays and when we read the bible. Of course, we are refered to as idiots for what we believe, because we are "misguided" and "lost".
This stupid view towards Christian fundamentalists has been a staple of the Blame America whacko left for years.
It's nothing new. But it does seem that the lefties are pushing it more openly.
I imagine many of them still falsely claim that it was a huge outpouring of Christian fundamentalists that gave President Bush his huge re-election win in 2004.
It's easier to blame it on the Christians than face the FACT that Bush won with increasing numbers of Jewish, Hispanic, Black and women voters which typically are considered part of the Democrat base.
One thing is for SURE... attacking Christians weeks before an election is a sure way to motivate them....
Thanks Rosie! It's about time that cow was good for something.
Crummy...while you are right that there are many denominations who fight very hard for their particular beliefs, they aren't blowing each up like Sunnis and Shia do for very small differences.
I didn't take the time to read those links, but I'm sure the ones who are referring to the religious right as not what is preached on Sunday are pretty far to the left and don't hold much water in my boat.
The couple of idiots that do attack abortion clinics or the military funerals for allowing homosexuals are LOUDLY rebuked by all Christians. The silence by even the most moderate Muslims is shameful if they really believe the "religion of peace" mantra, which by the way is completely against Islam and they themselves would be killed for that difference of belief.
There is no way anyone can rationally compare any mainstream Christian or even some pretty hardcore groups with the pure evil of the radical Muslims.
