Business As Usual...Major Hypocrisy

So much for all the talk of not giving in to special interest. One of Pelosi's first actions is to give special favor to a business, Del Monte (makers of Starfish Tuna), in her district. In the minimum wage bill that one company benefits big time from the only exception to the minimum wage hike. So, I guess a raise in minimum wage is good for everyone except if the company is in the Speaker's district, then you don't deserve an increase in pay. Don't you love the new tone in Washington already?

These last four years have proven to me that there is no hope in either party... Once a party gets in control they forget what they said they would do... only to work at keeping and exploiting power. (The dems will do what the repubs were doing) All that talk... was just talk to get them in control.. now it will flip-flop and the repubs will be pointing the finger...

It is becoming more clear to me that the repubs have still not learned their lesson. Just this week, House Minority leader, John Boehner decided to punish Rep Jeff Flake by tossing off the Judiciary Committee....

What was his crime? Cutting out the pork!

Rep Flake should be getting promoted for all his warnings of costly "earmarks." He sponsored over 40 amendments last year to strip pork projects from spending bills. National Taxpayers Union ranked him the most fiscally conservative house member.

From the WSJ: "Only last year, while making his move to replace Tom DeLay as Republican Majority Leader, Mr. Boehner ran as a budget reformer. He declared that "My Republican colleague, Jeff Flake of Arizona, has bold ideas to solve this problem. . . . I support his efforts." Well, never mind. If Republicans think that punishing their most principled Members is smart politics, their time in exile could be very long indeed."

LMC...yeppers

Nick...never would have happened without bloggers and the new media!!! Never heard a word of it in the MSM. Sad thing is though now everyone will be hurt by this very bad policy and those in her district which would have been protected now will have to suffer the same consequences as everyone else.
