Gustav Prayer Request

As of right now Hurricane Gustav is headed on a direct path towards Lafourche Parish where I grew up. They are predicting it will be either a Category 3 or possibly even 4 when it hits land which will mean major destruction. Lafourche and all surrounding parishes have been ordered a mandatory evacuation, but of course my family isn't listening as they are all as of now planning on riding it out.

So my first request would be for a change in their decision, and if that doesn't happen then my second request is for their safety.

I've said from the beginning that McCain needs a solid conservative as a running mate, and he has done exactly that in picking AK Gov. Sarah Palin!

She is very solid pro-life. She is the mother of 5 children. Her last child has Downs Syndrome. She was told before his birth he would have Downs and it was suggested she consider an abortion. Palin didn't even give it a thought for one second.

Her oldest son is in the Army and is deploying to Iraq on Sept. 11, so she knows what it is like to have a child in the military serving in Iraq.

She is very pro-2nd amendment. She is a lifelong member of the NRA. She is an avid hunter.

She is very solid on drilling as she is a huge proponent of drilling in ANWR. Alaska has 20% of US energy reserves.

She is a reformer. She challenged a Rep governor who was involved in corruption and beat him.

And one of my personal favorites. She was the president of her FCA chapter when she played basketball in school.

Installment #16 - Persecution Watch - Iran

An Iranian Christian couple in their 60s died last week from injuries sustained when secret police raided their house church service and severely beat them, according to a source for Compass Direct News. Amiri and his wife hosted the house church meeting just outside the central Iranian city of Isfahan. The secret police beat and arrested all those in attendance. Amiri died in a hospital on July 30 from injuries sustained from the beating and Amiri’s wife, Sakineh Rahnama, died on August 3 from stress-related causes, according to Farsi Christian News Network (FCNN).

McCain 1 - Obama 0

Last night's Saddleback forum was the first time McCain and Obama have "met" on the same stage. If you didn't watch it, try to see the repeats over the next couple of days b/c it was very informative. It is very clear why Obama is avoiding debates as much as possible, especially the town hall type forum. McCain was clearly the winner last night and it wasn't even close.

On life, Obama fumbled big time trying to make a joke when asked when does life begin saying that was above his pay grade to determine. McCain was unequivocal, conception.

On evil, Obama put the US in the same category as Darfur and didn't even discuss terrorism or al Qaeda. McCain was very clear who was the agent of evil in our time.

On taxes, if you or your small business makes more than $250K a year, Obama let you know that you will be paying more taxes under his administration. McCain was very clear that taxes need to be lowered.

On faith based groups, Obama said they should not be allowed to keep their convictions if they receive federal funding. McCain was very clear that no strings should be attached.

The one things I will give Obama credit for is his unequivocal definition of what it meant to be a Christian to him. McCain was equally as clear.

McCain needs to get his stories out more about his time in the prison camp. The two stories he told last night about sacrificing his freedom for his code of conduct and friends as well as his story about the Christian guard say so much about the man he is and everyone needs to know that side of him.

I'm Out of Here!

As always in my life change happens fast. I can make all the plans I want and God always finds a way to remind He is in charge. I've been saying for 6 months now that I'd be leaving here Aug. 31st. Well, the prime on our contract decided they want me home earlier, so I'm leaving tomorrow.

That's why I've been very lax on posts lately b/c lots had to be done before I left due to the accelerated schedule.

Being nothing was planned for home these next couple of weeks, I'm going to take advantage of them and get some down time to decompress and more importantly some quality and quantity Mimi time =) So while I'll be home this weekend, I will still be pretty much out of touch for a couple of more weeks and then slowly reenter the wonderful DC pace of life. I'll also take a break from posting unless something major happens like VP announcements.

So, see everyone in a couple of weeks! And thanks so much for everyone's prayers over this past year!

I'm Paying for WHAT???

Do you believe that the only issue with two guys having oral sex is whether they are using a condom or not? Do you believe that a girl dropping her pants and asking others to look to see if she has an STD or not is appropriate? Do you believe that friends should be supportive and encouraging about masturbation because abstinence is tough? Do you believe that the answer to STDs, teenage pregnancy and the like is that you just need to explore and know yourself "down there" better?

Well if you don't agree with any of those things, guess what? It doesn't matter because you are paying to have those things taught. That's right. Planned Parenthood which receives over $400million annually from Title X "family planning" tax supported funds is spreading those messages online with their new video website, Take Care Down There. Warning: It is even more graphic than the above questions.
