What a Difference a Day Makes...

Well...what a difference a day makes. In my last post I said, "Obviously as most of you know there is really no telling where I'll end up, but that is the plan as of now." Those words have turned out to be very true.

Yesterday I was called and my security clearance, which could have taken "a day or a year," took only 2 days to get re-authorized. So they re-offered the Iraq position and wanted me to go in the next 2-3 weeks. I'm not exactly sure when the contract ends yet, but I should be back sometime in either June or July. I'll be able to come home 2-3 times over the next 6 months, but obviously they will be spent visiting my family.

After several phone calls to people I trust and talk to before big decisions, everyone agreed that this was the move I needed to make at this time.

So as of now (you know the drill) I'm still leaving DC on Sunday night. I'll go to Louisiana for a day then head to TX for two weeks before leaving around the 14th (I actually have a week of training in El Paso and will not get to Iraq until the 21st.)

I'm really looking forward to what an amazing opportunity this will be.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to do much blogging while there, but I'll post as often as I can, so
tune in to find out what is happening there.

Please keep me in your prayers for safety and also for opportunities to do as much good in as many ways possible while there.

Nice win by the Tigers last night- looks like they gave you a propper send off. That, and it's always fun to make Miami look bad!
