AlGore Love Fest

That should have been the title of tonight's Academy Awards show. Starting with Ellen using the tried and true stolen election joke to DiCaprio fawning all over him and practically begging him to run for President after Gore claimed the show for the first time ever was completely "green". I guess every single person drove in a hybrid, no one used private jets or limos to get there, the air condition wasn't used and no one exhaled the entire night. Yeah right! Actually, I just had a thought, next year if they want to truly help stop CO2 emissions they should just skip the show and therefore save the earth from all the hot air expelled from the thank you speeches.

Then to no one's surprise his error filled, propaganda piece won and the director went on and on about how much we owe to this brave and courageous man for fighting to save the earth. Then to finish the love fest, Melissa Ethridge, after winning the award for best song for her song in Gore's piece (sorry just can't bring myself to call it a documentary or film), again praised and praised Gore for inspiring everyone to never give up the fight.

All I can say is that I'm so glad the Academy isn't the Electoral College!!!

So according to you, last year hollywood and the oscars were cowtowing to the homosexuals, and this year to the environmentalists?

I can only imagine what your reaction would have been if "Jesus Camp" won instead?

(Although your comment on CO2 was quite funny!)

I'm a Christian but had a film like "Jesus Camp" won I would have been upset b/c they are spreading the wrong message about Jesus.

"they" being the makers of the film or the subjects of the film?

Southpaw...just calling them as I see them. I had not even heard of 'Jesus Camp' until last night, so my guess is that it isn't a film I would be to thrilled with as Anon seems to say.

The subjects of the film.

Well said Shane!!

Jesus Camp is another example of the kind of movies the Academy loves. The movie was all about finding the most extreme Christians and making them look like idiots to try and send a message that all Christians are nutjobs. So if Jesus Camp had won I would've been just as upset. As I pointed out all the documentaries were the epitome of political correctness.
