Deficit Down & Revenues Up...Let's Raise Taxes!!!

The Treasury Dept. just put out the figures for the 1st quarter of the fiscal year. The deficit is down 57% and tax revenue is up 10% over last year. Now if we could get government spending to shrink, imagine how much better we would be doing. But of course despite the proof that the tax cuts worked and the economy continues to grow strong, Dems still want to raise taxes and increase government spending. Will they ever learn???

Unfortunately, the part about decreasing gov't spending is an extremely big thing that is not happening. It is now "evening in America" because the empire is becoming financially unstable and indebted to China.

Bush has now spent more $$ on gov't programs than LBJ.

Sometimes I think he is secretly working for the nation of Mexico.

His judicial appointments are the only thing I am happy about w/ regards to his presidency. If it were not for judicial appointments, GASP, Kerry might've done a better job.

Bush is a liberal, big-time gov't spender. the only things separating him from Kerry are his judicial nominations and his hawkish bent when it comes to the military.

We have a ton of debt to look forward to paying off, and no one is doing a thing about it...

Joe...I agree Bush hasn't been nearly as conservative in government spending as I'd like, but to even sugget Kerry would have done better is no way close. With Kerry we would have had even more govt spending, no tax cuts, more regulations, etc...I'll take Bush over Kerry any day and twice on Sunday! =)

yeah yeah i know... i'd still vote for Bush over Kerry... I was just venting... I like to vent about the repubs, because thats pretty much who i vote for... and they have been very disappointing, for the most part.

and your comments about Kerry outspending Bush, I think that is debateable... as Bush has outspent Clinton by a long shot... Bush makes Clinton look like a big-time fiscal conservative...

theres not much point in me flaming the dems, as I didn't vote for them...

I too find it despicable that they would try to use the war for their political gain...

I think the bigger problem is the Repubs in Congress. They did the bulk of the work of restraining Clinton or he definitely would have spent a lot more. Yet they have gone crazy in recent years always even adding more to Bush's already too big budgets.

I have no problem holding their feet to the fire at all! I believe that was one of the biggest reasons we lost Congress b/c it was hard to tell Repub from Dem, especially on spending which was one of our cornerstones.
