And How Much Money Are We Sending To LA?

Before sending $250 billion to Louisiana (whether or not this is an appropriate amount is for another post), as proposed by Senators Landrieu and Vitter, a slight history lesson is in order: In just the past generation, the Pelican State has had a governor, an attorney general, three successive insurance commissioners, a congressman, a federal judge, a state Senate president and a swarm of local officials convicted.

Everyone knows that LA is one of the most corrupt states in the nation and New Orleans puts the rest of the state to shame. If there aren't major controls and oversight on this influx of federal funds, I have little hope for anything being better than before Katrina and Rita.
