NY Times Urges Support for Surge

If the NY Times is starting to write positive op-eds about the surge, then it must really be working. So much so that even they can't ignore it. Here is their conclusion after spending 8 days there: "there is enough good happening on the battlefields of Iraq today that Congress should plan on sustaining the effort at least into 2008."

I was writing an expanded post on the wider subject of surge today and it's funny that Michael Barone wrote a piece at about the same time that was almost a mirror of mine.

It may just be that a perfect storm of media, polticial and public opinion is galvanizing around good news for a change.

If that continues and we get a good report from Petraues the 2008 election will be very interesting.

The opposition to the Iraq front in the War on the Islamofascism has always been about destroying Bush, at the expense of our soldiers and our country. Just watching the Daily Kos gang get their panties all in a wad after the NY Times article came out and then watching these loons attack two reliably liberal columnists proves it. They would rather our country lose in Iraq if it means Bush is tainted.
