All Over for McCain
In my humble opinion, McCain has just ended his presidential hopes. He refused an invitation to speak at the biggest conservative convention of the year. Not a very smart move at all. Not that I thought he had a chance before anyway, but I think this will definitely be the final straw for many more conservatives who were still considering him.

I don't think McCain had much of a chance to begin with. Too many in the Republican establishment are tired of him.
It's the conservative base way more than the Repub establishment who is tired of him stabbing us in the back.
so if McCain is out, and Rudy has a history of being pro-choice, and Romney seems to be pissing people off left and right, who would you say has the best shot?
Well, I'm still holding out hope that Newt will throw his hat in the ring, but if he doesn't I think Rudy has the best shot. He is strong on national defense, taxes, smaller government and states' rights, so he'll definitely have all the fiscal conservatives and neocons. He has the ability to possibly placate some of the right on the abortion issue with his record on judges, which is where the biggest effect would be made anyway. Romney has changed positions way too much recently and as more and more of that comes out, he will be done.
McCain came in first at a SC straw poll yesterday.
But Rudy was right behind and surprisingly, Duncan Hunter a very close third.
We need a strong leader in the war and I'd be fine with Newt too. But I'd also go with Rudy.
McCain is toast!!!!!!
Mike...interesting about Hunter. I'd have no problem supporting him if he were to start making some gains in name id.
Blah! Can't believe conservatives support a social liberal. Those who do should be ashamed. True Christians don't support those who support killing the unborn and think gays are ok. Yeah, voting records mean something as a statement of where they stand. True Christians are Christian first and Americans second. Hopefully Sen. Thompson jumps in.
Anon...if given the choice of a true conservative over a social liberal I will definitely vote for the social conservative. My point here is that if Rudy is my only option over McCain, I'm going with Rudy b/c he is more inline on all issues and his statements and record on judges helps with the social side. If Sen. Thompson enters the race, I will definitely give him major consideration.
By voting for anyone who violates Christ's word is blasphemous. I will pray for you.
Anon...thanks for your prayers as I'll definitely take them.
Question for you...Rudy vs. Hillary in the general election, who do you vote for?
"Question for you...Rudy vs. Hillary in the general election, who do you vote for?"
Neither. I stay home. Our Lord will guide us through this period. Satan has a hold on both and I fear your considering of uholy candidates has allowed you to give in to Satan too. Remember you serve Jesus Christ, not evil. The US is a Christian nation and to allow those who serve Satan's interests to rule it does the world no good. Perhaps it is a test of our faith. Blessings upon you to see the light!
Anon...I appreciate your view but I have to say I disagree completely. By staying at home, you are in effect voting for Hillary. While I pray for a better choice, if Rudy is the Repub candidate, he would do FAR better for our cause in many areas as opposed to the HUGE damage Hillary will try to do.
Granted it would be the lesser of two evils in some very important areas, but that is where I will pray that Rudy will not be active in the few areas of disagreement and God will hinder any effort to do otherwise. However, staying home is not an option in my opinion as you give up the right to choose to people who do not believe as I believe.
A vote for Giuliani is a vote for Satan. See you in the fiery pits below.
not sure if this the same Anon as before but cast away once you remove your log.
