Success in a Bubble

Our team here in Iraq had an AWESOME last two weeks, with a couple of big successes. Unfortunately, I can't say anything at all about any of it due to it all being classified.

I'm learning that this is one of the problems with positive news out of here. Now don't get me wrong, there are still tons of positive stories that could be reported on if the reporters had such a desire. However some of the really great stuff just can't even be discussed with anyone, much less the media.

Years down the road as things start becoming declassified, a lot of people will look very dumb for saying some of the things they are saying today about what is really going on here in Iraq.

Boy, the President sure could use some "awesome" news right now. It would be a shame to bail out now, just to find out years later, how well things were really going. If that's the case.

Can you give us a hint?;)

Nick...you are right b/c they are still trying to do it over how the Cold War was won.

Anon...I promise it is the case and history will show it.

Ron...I so wish I could.

classified or unclassified, will these documents justify the 10,000+ lives that were sacrificed?

Southpaw...welcome back...I've been missing your liberal diatribes.

The answer to your question is another question. Will these documents and successes give reprive to the 100s of thousands who were slaughtered by Saddam and who's relatives can now have a hope for the future...will these documents show the nearly 100,000 terrorists who have been killed or captured and can no longer TARGET innocent civilians, which is the majority of the 10,000+ number you mention.

I'm sorry, I must have missed the official proclomation from the Bush administration that two wrongs now indeed do make a right.

Will the documents when declassified tell us where the WMDs are? or reveal the ties of Saddam to Al Qaida?

That would be a neat trick, since neither one exists...

Southpaw...I love how much liberals all of a sudden care for innocent Iraqis (which as I alluded, it is the terrorists killing the majority of them and TARGETING them...it is sad and unfortunate when an innocent is killed ACCIDENTLY by coalition forces) but didn't care about the 100s of thousands being killed by Saddam in the mass graves that have been found and the 100s of thousands of more that would have been brutally and tortured by him had we not overthrown his horrible government.

In response to other things being found in classified documents...you might want to ask the Russians, being they were giving Saddam US classified documents before the war, or maybe the French who were being paid off by Saddam with the Oil-for-Food program. Both of which delayed our getting here and showed part of our hand, giving Saddam plenty of time to hide and destroy records...but to bad for him, he didn't destroy them all in time. History will prove this was the right thing to do for many reasons.
