shhh...don't tell the liberal media

THE ECONOMY IS BOOMING!!!

Once again unemployment has dropped in March to 4.7% with 211,000 new jobs added. That is over two straight years of new jobs each month putting the total well over 2 million (didn't have time to find the exact numbers). This marks the lowest jobless rate in 4 1/2 years.

The media has begrudgingly reported on these facts over the months, but always couched it with, "but consumer confidence is not reflecting the news". Well, consumer confidence is rising, which by the way is always the last piece in the puzzle of a booming economy. Let's see how they try to paint their gloom and doom now.

Don't you love watching them squirm!

The time is overdue for Congress to make the tax cuts permanent to make sure we keep the economy going in the right direction. Yet, as always, Dems and RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) are blocking this from happening. Hopefully this election cycle will yield more true conservatives in Congress, so we can have a true conservative majority and finally be able to get real reform.

Editor's update: The over 2 million new jobs created sited earlier is for the last twelve months. Since Aug '03 over 5.1 million new jobs have been created.

Ah yes, the booming economy.

Well then, I guess all our problems are solved!

In fact, this is such good news, I think the indictment of Tom DeLay should be tossed and the conviction of Duke Cunningham overturned. After all, they are partly responsible for this good news, right?

It is good news and if a Dem were in office the MSM wouldn't be able to shut up about it.

And yes, more TRUE conservatives would definitely be a blessing!!

Southpaw...thanks for continuing the fine tradition of Libs. When facts are presented, instead of addressing the facts, you throw mud.

Martin...Great points.

I agree that the economy goes up and down in cycles regardless of which party is in charge, but the policies of the Repubs of lower taxes, less needless regulations and free trade policies definitely help lessen the down swings and improve the upswings.

Now if we can get them to stop spending like Dems as Martin points out, we can get this deficit moving down.

Sorry for the mess up Tiger, I thought you were IN the military. I fixed it.

Be safe, and keep up the great blogging.

I'm sorry, I thought that DeLay's indictments and Cunningham's convictions WERE facts.

And FYI, if you've been paying attention, neither the Dems nor the media have been saying that the economy is bad. They have been focusing on the war in Iraq, leaks in the White House, and the fact that they are outpolling the GOP as the November elections approach.

That's right! Bad news for the President... front page. Good news for the President...buried.

Southpaw...you are correct those are facts. However those facts have nothing to do with the facts presented in this post instead they are just blatant smears and a weak attempt to divert the conversation.

Ron...you nailed it and even the times when the economic facts are presented they are always couched with whatever "bad" info they can find to try and counterbalance the good news. Up unti now the "bad" news that was used most often was consumer confidence still being low. Now with that on the rise it will be fun how they try to downplay such solid growth now.

no, a smear would be saying that Tom DeLay is a dispicable human being.

Southpaw...thanks for continuing to prove my point...when you can't dispute the facts...try to change the subject. Your national leaders have taught you well.

ML...unfortunately not everyone keeps up with stuff as much as we do. We are a very small minority. The rest just pull up to the nightly news to get their daily feeding of what is going on in the world and unfortunately all to often it is very far from reality. Case in point...Iraq!

The military runs well when you have somebody who knows what he is doing!

Nick...Your assessment is almost completely accurate. If you are purely referring to effectiveness of the soldiers, then I agree 100%. However, in regards to efficiency, unfortunately the military as an agency is just as bad if not worse than the other government agencies in its lack of efficiency.
